New licensing feature available at Coventry University

Tacit Sims has recently added a new licensing feature available on the website. The company is now able to do high volume licensing which fits very well for the education market. Tacit Sims can now issue a campus-wide license to academic institutions as long as users have the same university e-mail domain ( ie: ).

This development was done for the first time for Coventry University, where they were sold a 1-year 40K licenses that can be used by students and staff for this academic year 2018-19. As a part of this deal, students and staff members from Coventry University took part in an IPSim workshop and some more sessions are expected to be delivered in the next months. The first workshop was delivered by Richard Nugent on behalf of Coller IP.

‘We are pleased to work with TacitSims to deliver IPSim across Coventry University Group and SMEs in the area. It is an innovative IP training platform that gives our staff and students the experience of commercialising intellectual property in a safe environment. It is a great immersive learning tool that our students enjoy using to understand the values and complexity of creating an IP strategy to match business needs. They learn so many aspects of how to use IP, from protecting ideas through to negotiating deals for IP license, sales or defending the market position.’

Dr. Edward ColeIP Commercialisation Executive: Enterprise & Innovation Group, Coventry University

This licensing option is a step forward for offering more value for money to many other universities around the world that want to deploy IPSim across their whole institution. Standard prices are available on the website and also on request as Tacit Sims can provide tailor-made deals to satisfy more specific needs.
